OUR STORY
In 2014, an "awakening" began in the hearts of five women who had a deep desire for "more". Uncertain of what that would look like, the women continued to pray for several years. During that time bible study was started in the living room of Lucious and LaTanya Sumlar. That led to being a part of another ministry where there was now teaching and praying. Praying continued and God started to deal with Lucious and LaTanya even more about searching for "more." It was from there that Holy Spirit intricately led them to a life-changing encounter through Dr. Randy Clark of Global Awakening. After that encounter, it was very clear that there was "more" and will always be more. At that time, Lucious and LaTanya felt that Holy Spirit was leading them to come under the leadership of Global Awakening and learn as much as they could.
However, they didn't prepare for others wanting to follow them, but they did. As such in March 2022, Awakening Christian Fellowship was birthed.

Our mission is to make God feel at home here.
From the beginning, "Awakening" was chosen because the vision was and has been to awaken the people within our community to the beauty of who Jesus is and the amazing opportunity He has given us to partner with Him in sharing the good news with others. He wants us to awaken the ones who are still sleeping.
In partnering with the Holy Spirit, we have already began seeing miracles, signs, and wonders. Yet, we know that there is more.
As we embark on stepping in to even "more" of God, we know that He has more for you too. We believe that if you are still alive, God wants to use your life in a powerful way.
Our story is one of awakening you and others in a life-giving community. At Awakening Christian Fellowship, we want to help you become a part of a loving home with the loving family of God to expand that community, help you safely know and encounter God as you experience His revival within you all while learning how you can share His love and power with others to make an impact.
